- Australia – Wiruna
Wiruna is an area in New South Wales near Ilford, about 220 Km. away from Sydney. The area is considered as the prime site specially marked for the enthusiasts on star grazing. The astronomers of all standards right from amateurs to the professionals gather in May every year, since 1993, to celebrate the South Pacific Star Party. The Astronomical Society of New South Wales (ASNSW) provides observation facility and accommodation facility to all the stargrazers. Wiruna is open only to the members of ASNSW along with the members of other astronomical societies and their guests. The Society hold some open nights for the public at their observatory nearby.
- Kruger National Park – South Africa.
Kruger National Park is one of the largest part in African continent and the best place to view the skies. There are 9 different trails, several camps and lodges in the Par. There are some trails which require an overnight stay in the Park. Much of the Kruger’s landscape is flat and bushveld, it is remote enough so that there is not much light pollution here. Kruger also connects with the parks in Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Daily there are astronomic tours starting at dusk departing from Singita Game Reserves which is situated at the far end of the park. The visitors can look for Scorpio. Rings of Saturn and Southern Cross.
- Aoraki Mackenzie – New Zealand
Aoraki Mackenzie is IDA certified Dark Sky Reserve, which include Aoraki or Mt. Cook National Park and Mackenzie Basin. From 1990 there is light control to protect wildlife and promote night sky tourism, Aoraki has been a Dark Sky Reserve since 2012. The visitors are offered telescopes for more close-up sky watch. There are also an orientation at Digital Dome Planetarium for big Sky Stargazing.
- Ulluru – Australia
The place is not titled for Stargazing by Sky Reserve. But the place is undoubtedly the best site in Australia for gazing star view. The place is stunning during the day, while famous for dusk and dawn hours. One can experience amazing view with night-time canopy. Ulluru lies 300-km from Alice Spring, which is the nearest town. The area is free from pollution and light, to have a great view of the star. The place accessible by highway, at a height of 863-feet.
